One day I happened to stumble upon some online literature for The Three Faces Of Eve. This truly sparked up my imagination, resulting in a trip to the Library to hire the book.
This particular book wasn't amongst all the modern books. The Library Assistant had no other choice but to hunt for it in the Library Archives!!!!
Holding this old book in my hands was truly a treasure in itself. The book is all about the true story of Eve White, Eve Black and Jane. This woman had a split personality disorder, that was so severe, she had episodes of black outs while in her alter ego guises.
I had become interested in the book, of course through the online literature. I started to think that we all have alter ego personalites, such as the role of Mother, Sister, Lover, Wife, Friend etc.
In each of these guises are mindsets. The heart is married to the mind, in each case. However, the rules and boundaries in each remain different.
Eve White personality was brought into line by her alter ego Jane, who in turn faded out Eve Black, who absolutely was the wild menace of all three personalities.
Unfortunately, Eve White went through her life developing hundreds of split personalities, albeit not as severe as the Eve White, Eve Black, Jane scenario.
She was never totally free of the ultimate pain of herself..........
When I started to paint The Three Faces Of Eve I had floating heads in mind. I wished for the theme to be abstract, striking with the aim to startle.
I chose black for the background as I wished the floating heads to stand out. Black is for death, endings, mystery, finality etc.
The glitter in my painting was totally to bring in the sense of fun, almost of the wild wicked, to the piece.
My painting reminds me of many things, witches, majick, spells, frivolity, fun, joy, laughter, aswell as anger and dark pain.
My piscean daughter, who was born of the imagination, loved the painting so very much, it became her own. It now hangs proudly on her bedroom wall, for her to enjoy for years to come.
Within The Three Faces Of Eve is the darkening of the glitz of the glitter light
